Fertilizing and Weed Control Programs
We offer many different plans depending on the condition of your
lawn & soil, as all lawns are not the same. We offer a very
basic 5 step plan all the way up to our yearly 8 step plan
including our fall core aeration & over-seeding. Using all slow
release fertilizers and a liquid weed control program to control
all of your broadleaf weeds and annual grasses.
Advanced 5 Step Plan
***Our most popular and economical plan***
· Crabgrass Pre-emergent
and Slow Release Fertilizer (before April 1st).
This first step will be applied between March 1st and April 1st
to maximize the effectiveness of the pre-emergent.
Crabgrass & Annual grasses are emerging at this time of the year
and can be treated most effectively. The Nitrogen in the
fertilizer helps fosters spring green-up.
·
Liquid Broadleaf Control
applied in mid May. The purpose of this application is to
treat the broadleaf weeds such as dandelions, henbit, chickweed,
clover etc. which are present at this time.
·
Second Liquid Broadleaf
Control
applied in late June. At this time of the year other
broadleaf weeds have germinated and are present and must be
treated again. (Example- Dandelion seeds can lay dormant for 5
years before blooming.)
· Fall Slow Release
Fertilization
applied in September. This application will help to
prepare your lawn for the fall growing season. When applied
while Core aerating it will help in the timely repair of your
lawn from the hot dry Midwest summers.
·
Early Winter Slow
Release Fertilizer
applied in November. This will act as a winterizer, to
prevent winter stress and promote healthy deep root development.
This will also help your lawn get a jump start next spring.
Pro 6 Step Plan with Grub control
· The
same five steps listed in the
Advanced Plan, plus
· Grub worm insecticide
to aid in controlling turf damaging grubs. We use
Merit / Grub X
and it is applied in May and will provide season long
protection. This product is taken up by the grass and
causes the roots of the grass to become poisonous to the grubs.
.
Premium 7 Step Plan with Grub control & spring fertilizer
·
Our Advanced 5 Step plan but adds an extra Spring Fertilizer for
irrigated lawns. Also a must have Grub control for lawns with
sprinkling systems, since grubs love wet moist soils.
Ultimate 8 Step Plan & Nuts edge
·
Our Premium 7 Step Plan with an added Nuts edge control to help
contain the tall light green grassy looking weed that germinates
in late June and lasts through September.
